Ingredients:
- 8 small slider buns
- 8 slices of tempeh
- 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
- 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup vegan mayo
- 1 tablespoon Sriracha sauce
- Lettuce leaves
- Sliced tomatoes
- Sliced red onion
- Pickles
Instructions:
To make a marinade, mix the liquid smoke, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a small bowl
Put the tempeh slices in a small dish and cover them with the marinade
Turn them over a few times during the 30 minutes of marinating
Set a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat to get it hot
The tempeh slices should be grilled for three to four minutes on each side, or until they have nice grill marks and are hot all the way through
Stir the Sriracha sauce and vegan mayo together in a small bowl while the tempeh is cooking
This will make a spicy mayo
Put the slider buns on the grill and toast them for one to two minutes, until they are just barely golden
Spread a lot of spicy mayo on the bottom bun of each slider
Then, add a lettuce leaf, a slice of grilled tempeh, a tomato slice, red onion, and pickles
Use a toothpick to hold the other half of the bun on top
Smoked Tempeh Sliders are great when they're new and hot
